Sealing Criminal Court Records in Carter County

Expungement in Carter County follows state law. Under Title 22 O.S. Section 18, people with dismissed charges, acquittals, or pardons can petition to seal records. Misdemeanor convictions with fines under $501 qualify with no wait. Other misdemeanors need 5 years. A single non-violent felony requires 5 years after the sentence is done.

Petition filing fees range from $150 to $250. You must also get an OSBI report ($15) and pay the OSBI processing fee ($150) when the court grants the expungement. The petition must be served on the DA, the arresting agency, and OSBI. Deferred sentences under Title 22 O.S. Section 991(c) are sealed once all probation conditions are met.
