Washita County Court Clerk Office

Washita County Criminal Record Expungement
If you have a criminal record in Washita County, you may be able to get it sealed. Under Title 22 O.S. Section 18, people who were acquitted, had charges dismissed, or received a pardon can petition for expungement. Misdemeanor convictions with fines under $501 have no waiting period. Other misdemeanors need a 5-year wait after the sentence ends. A single non-violent felony requires 5 years after sentence completion with no other felony convictions.
The process begins with filing a petition in the Washita County District Court. Filing fees range from $150 to $250. You also need an OSBI criminal history report for $15, and OSBI charges $150 to process the expungement after the court grants it. The petition has to be served on the District Attorney, the arresting agency, and the OSBI. Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma can help low-income residents with expungement at no cost.
Deferred sentences get different treatment. Under Title 22 O.S. Section 991(c), records from a deferred sentence are sealed once the person finishes all probation conditions. The court dismisses the charge and orders the record sealed from the public docket.
