The Oklahoma City Municipal Court is the judicial branch of city government. It operates as a court not of record under state law and city ordinance. The court has jurisdiction over traffic misdemeanors, criminal misdemeanors, and parking violations that fall under city code. Cases like speeding, running red lights, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and minor theft all go through this court. The main court sits at 700 Couch Drive, with the Customer Service Window at 701 Couch Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73102. You can reach the Clerk's office at (405) 297-3898 for general questions. For parking ticket issues, call Parking Enforcement at (405) 297-2787.

The court is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. City holidays are excluded. Judges are appointed by the City Council and must be licensed attorneys in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar Association. The presiding judge and associate judges rotate through court sessions throughout the week.

Jury Division and Juvenile cases cannot be paid online. They require a court appearance. Certain criminal cases with active warrants also need a personal appearance before a judge.

The city provides a free online ticket lookup system for searching municipal court records. This tool is run by the Clerk of the Court's office. You can search by last name, first name, date of birth, driver's license number, citation number, docket number, PD case number, warrant number, license plate number, state of registration, or VIN. The last name field is required. There is also a checkbox to include similar sounding names, which helps if you are not sure of the exact spelling.

When you find a case, the system shows the defendant name, citation number, case status, charge description, fine amount, court date, and payment status. You can add more than one citation to a cart for batch payment. This is one of the few municipal courts in Oklahoma that does not charge a processing fee for online payments. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards are all accepted.

Phone Scam Warning for OKC Court

The City of Oklahoma City has issued a warning about phone scams targeting residents. Scammers call from what looks like an OKC Municipal Court phone number and demand payment over the phone. They may threaten jail time if you do not pay right away. The city has confirmed they do not make these kinds of calls. If you get one, hang up. Then call the real Municipal Court at (405) 297-3898 to verify your case status. Never give payment info to an unsolicited caller claiming to be from the court.

If a case has an active warrant, a partial payment will not clear that warrant. You must call (405) 297-3898 directly for information on how to resolve warrants. This is another reason to never trust a phone call demanding immediate payment.

Oklahoma City Criminal Court Open Records

The City complies with the Oklahoma Open Records Act (Title 51 O.S. Section 24A.1 et seq.), which establishes that the people have the right to know and be fully informed about their government. Certified copies bear the official court seal and work for legal proceedings and other official purposes.

All felony cases in Oklahoma City go to the Oklahoma County District Court at 320 Robert S. Kerr Avenue, Room 409, Oklahoma City, OK 73102. The phone number is (405) 713-1705. This court handles criminal felonies, state-level misdemeanors, and other serious matters that fall outside municipal court jurisdiction. Records are maintained on the Oklahoma State Courts Network, which gives free public access to case dockets, party information, and scheduled hearings.

You can search by case number or party name on OSCN. The On Demand Court Records system provides an alternative way to search these same records with a different layout.
