Yukon Criminal Records Court System
The Yukon Municipal Court is the judicial branch of city government. State law and city ordinance created it as a Court Not of Record. The court processes misdemeanor violations of the Yukon City Code. It protects the rights of all parties and sets penalties meant to deter repeat offenses. The judge is appointed by the City Council and decides cases in an impartial way.
The Yukon Municipal Court homepage shows court info, contact details, and links for paying citations online.
This page also explains the court's role and how it fits into the city government structure.
The maximum fine in Yukon Municipal Court is $750, unless state law sets a different amount for a specific offense. The court can also impose up to 60 days in jail. These limits do not include state-mandated fees, court costs, or city fees, which get added on top. All felonies and state misdemeanors committed in Yukon that are not violations of the Yukon City Code go to the Canadian County District Court at 301 N. Choctaw Avenue in El Reno, OK 73036. You can reach them at (405) 295-6100.
Court staff handle recording case dispositions, preparing writs and legal documents, issuing receipts for all fines paid, depositing funds with the Finance Department, and preparing fiscal and statistical reports. The Yukon Court Clerk office is at 532 West Main Street, Yukon, OK 73099. Phone is (405) 354-4264. Fax is (405) 350-7584. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Yukon Criminal Court Ticket Information
The Yukon ticket information page explains your options after getting a citation. A ticket is a legal document charging you with a municipal ordinance violation. Once issued, you have to take action. You can plead guilty and pay the fine, plead no contest (nolo contendere), or plead not guilty and request a hearing. A no contest plea results in a guilty finding but cannot be used against you in a civil trial.
The Yukon ticket information page covers plea options, payment methods, and what happens if you miss your court date.
Read this page carefully before deciding how to handle your citation.
You can pay online, by mail, or in person. The online option is at the Yukon payment portal. A credit card convenience fee of $7.00 applies to all online payments. The system accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Your billing address must match your credit card statement for the payment to go through. To search for your citation, enter two of your identifiers in the Search Violations tool.
The Yukon online payment portal lets you look up and pay criminal court citations with a credit card.
The $7 convenience fee is added automatically at checkout.
Mail payments go to the City of Yukon. Include a copy of your ticket. Make it a cashier's check or money order. Full payment must arrive by 5:00 p.m. on your assigned court date. In-person payments are accepted at the Court Clerk office at 532 West Main. Cash, cashier's check, money order, and credit card are all accepted there. If you do not pay by the court date, you must appear before the Municipal Judge at the Courthouse, 12 South 5th Street in Yukon.
Yukon Court Warrants and Fees
Missing your court date in Yukon has real costs. A Failure to Appear warrant is issued the day after you miss your date. That warrant adds a $260 fee to what you already owe, and your driving privileges get suspended. A Failure to Pay warrant is different. If the judge orders you to pay on a schedule and you do not follow through, a warrant is issued with a $340 fee attached. Both types of warrants can lead to arrest.
Active warrants can be cleared by paying at the Court Clerk office with cash, cashier's check, money order, or credit card. You can also turn yourself in at the Yukon Police Department. The Municipal Judge will be contacted and can administer judgment at the jail. A citation copy is needed to process any payment accurately, so bring it with you or request one from the clerk.
Note: Under Oklahoma law, the court must report traffic violations to DPS within five days of the final case disposition.
Yukon Criminal Records and License Issues
When a warrant is paid and closed, the Yukon Court Clerk processes a release for your suspended license. You must pick up this release form from the Court Clerk office yourself. Then take it to the Department of Public Safety at 3600 N Martin Luther King, Oklahoma City. The phone number for Driver Compliance is 405-425-2059. Your license is not reinstated until DPS clears you. That means paying any reinstatement fees DPS requires on top of what you paid to the court.
Under Oklahoma state law, a driver must carry valid insurance verification in the vehicle. If you did not have insurance at the time of your Yukon traffic stop, the court encourages you to appear rather than just paying the fine. Appearing gives you a chance to explain the situation to the judge and potentially reduce the consequences. Your court history is available with valid ID, a $1 per page fee, and an Open Records Request filed with the clerk. A driving record can also be picked up at any tag agency in the state.
